Josh Duhamel is opening up about his divorce from Fergie for the first time in years, revealing the former couple split because they have “very different views of the world.”
The actor, 53, made the rare comments during Monday’s episode of “The Skinny Confidential” podcast, offering insight into his 2017 separation from the Black Eyed Peas singer.
“We’re just very different,” Duhamel told listeners. “She and I just have different views of the world, and that’s OK.”
Despite the split, the “Ransom Canyon” star emphasized that he harbors no ill feelings toward his ex-wife, whom he divorced in 2019 after nearly a decade of marriage.
“I have no regrets about it,” Duhamel said. “We have a beautiful son,” he added, referencing the pair’s 12-year-old boy, Axl.

Duhamel went on to praise both Fergie and his current wife, Audra Mari, describing them as “both very different in a lot of ways but both really, really great women.”
He offered a surprisingly warm portrayal of the Grammy winner, noting, “Fergie is also very wholesome, believe it or not, especially since she stepped away from it all. She’s a great mom, very kind, very non-confrontational, thank God.”
The former soap star also revealed that he and Fergie maintain a positive co-parenting relationship. “[Fergie and I] have a great relationship. She and Audra have a great relationship,” he explained.
Duhamel moved on with Mari, 32, in 2019, proposing three years later. The couple married in North Dakota in September 2022 and welcomed their son, Shepherd, in January 2024.
This isn’t the first time Duhamel has addressed his divorce. In a 2023 interview on “In Depth With Graham Bensinger,” he insisted, “there wasn’t anything wrong with the relationship.
“We had a great time. I think we kind of outgrew each other and had very different interests,” he said at the time. Duhamel also admitted he never “ever really get comfortable” with Fergie’s level of fame, explaining he’s “just not a guy who is comfortable going to red carpets and doing all the Hollywood stuff.”
Duhamel and Fergie married in 2009 after meeting two years earlier through mutual friends. Their divorce was finalized in 2019
