Sean Diddy Combs Set for 2028 Release After Four-Year Prison Term

Sean Diddy Combs Set for 2028 Release After Four-Year Prison Term

Sean “Diddy” Combs still has several years left to serve behind bars, but his time in prison now has a clear end date. The hip-hop mogul, who was convicted earlier this month, is set to be released in 2028 after completing his four-year sentence.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the 55-year-old is scheduled for release on May 8, 2028. Combs is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn but may be moved to another facility to serve the remainder of his sentence.

The Bad Boy Records founder was convicted in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. However, he was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. Combs pleaded not guilty to all allegations and has continued to deny any wrongdoing.

On October 3, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced him to 50 months in prison, granting credit for the 13 months he has already served since his arrest in September 2024. In addition to prison time, Combs will face five years of supervised release and must pay a $500,000 fine.

His defense team had urged the court to consider a reduced sentence, citing what they described as “terrible conditions” at the Metropolitan Detention Centre. Reports from his attorneys included accounts of constant suicide watch, poor sanitation, and limited access to drinkable water and edible food.

Earlier this month, Combs’ friend Charlucci Finney shared details of a frightening incident inside the detention center. “He woke up with a knife to his throat,” Finney told the Daily Mail. “I don’t know whether he fought him off or the guards came, I just know that it happened.”

The shocking account added to growing concerns about Combs’ safety while in custody. Despite the high-profile nature of the case, officials have not commented publicly on the alleged incident.

Rumors circulating online suggested that former President Donald Trump might consider pardoning Combs. However, the White House quickly dismissed the speculation, telling NBC News there is “zero truth” to the claims.

Combs, known for his decades-long influence on the music industry, faces an uncertain future as he continues to serve his sentence. His conviction has marked a dramatic fall from grace for one of hip-hop’s most successful and controversial figures.

With more than three years remaining on his term, the man once known as Puff Daddy will have to wait until 2028 before regaining his freedom and beginning the next chapter of his life.
