Amy Schumer Says She and Chris Fischer Are “Still Married” as Speculation Grows

Amy Schumer and her husband, Chris Fischer, are keeping their focus on each other as whispers about their marriage continue to circulate. A source told People magazine that the couple is staying grounded despite the renewed attention on their relationship.

“They’re privately working through normal issues that couples in long-term marriages have. They are both committed to the relationship,” the insider said, noting that the two remain united as they navigate the challenges that come with years together.

Schumer, 44, appeared to subtly acknowledge the speculation this week. In an Instagram Story, she shared a photo of New York City while praising Hulu’s new series All’s Fair, ending her caption with a straightforward line that caught fans’ attention: “And Chris and I are still married.”

The comedian and Fischer, a professional chef, first sparked dating rumors in November 2017. Three months later, in February 2018, they tied the knot in Malibu in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family.

Looking back on their early days, Schumer once joked on Today that “We got down to business really quick,” adding that she realized he was “the one” only “like a month in,” even though they had been friends for months before their romance began.

The couple welcomed their son, Gene David, in May 2019. Schumer later spoke about her IVF experience on Chelsea Handler’s podcast in 2022, saying, “We’re gonna have just one child and we’re just enjoying our little family and I’m just focusing on that.”

Schumer and Fischer’s last public appearance together came in June at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival, where they attended the premiere of the documentary Room To Move. The pair looked relaxed and supportive of each other, reassuring fans who have followed their journey closely.

But recently, Schumer caused a stir online when followers noticed she had wiped her Instagram of all previous posts, including photos featuring Fischer. The move sparked rumors that something was amiss, though she pushed back with a new post on Tuesday, November 11.

“I actually left my house tonight. Who’s proud? I’m feeling good and happy. Deleted my old pics for no reason!” she wrote, adding a lighthearted tone to the situation.

With both Schumer and Fischer expressing commitment to their partnership, those close to them say the couple is focused on their family, their marriage, and moving forward together, despite whatever noise may surface online.
