Teddi Mellencamp is sharing a candid new update about her health and emotional well-being as she continues navigating life after a devastating cancer diagnosis. The 44-year-old TV personality opened up during the latest episode of her podcast Two T’s in a Pod, revealing that she has recently begun therapy to help cope with everything she has endured over the past year.
“I started doing therapy, and it’s taken its toll on me,” Mellencamp said on the show. “I’ve learned that there are certain things… like it’s hard for me to touch and move.”
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star also spoke honestly about the frustration she feels as she adjusts to changes in her body. “I can see that I’m slower than I was before, and that’s really frustrating to me. I want to be back to the way I was,” she admitted.

Mellencamp’s health journey became public earlier this year when she revealed she had been diagnosed with brain cancer in February 2025. Soon after, she underwent surgery to remove tumors, marking the beginning of an intense period of treatment and recovery that has affected nearly every aspect of her life.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Mellencamp explained that the physical side effects of treatment have been compounded by emotional challenges she feels she had not fully processed at the time. “I think [medications and immunotherapy] take a toll on my body, and I think that I also didn’t properly process all of the things that happened when I had surgery,” she said.
She went on to reflect on how multiple life events collided, leaving little time to emotionally catch up. “From my divorce to all of a sudden being in emergency surgery, to not being able to see my kids when I was recovering. I think all of those things are starting to finally hit me now,” she shared.
Her honesty has resonated with many listeners, especially those who have faced similar struggles with serious illness and major life upheaval. Mellencamp has long been open with fans about her experiences, and this latest update continues that pattern of vulnerability.
There has also been a note of hope in her journey. In October 2025, Mellencamp announced that she was “cancer-free” after months of treatment, explaining that her cancer had become undetectable. While that milestone marked a powerful moment of relief, her recent comments highlight that recovery is not only physical but also deeply emotional.
By speaking openly about therapy, frustration, grief, and healing, Mellencamp is shedding light on the complex reality of surviving cancer. Her update serves as a reminder that even after positive medical news, rebuilding takes time, patience, and support.
