Jayne Trcka, the bodybuilder and actress best known for playing Miss Mann in the comedy hit Scary Movie, has died at the age of 62. Trcka was found unresponsive inside her San Diego home earlier this month after a friend became concerned when repeated attempts to contact her went unanswered.
According to TMZ, the friend tried calling several times before deciding to check on her in person. Trcka was discovered in the kitchen, and emergency services were contacted immediately. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
Her son later confirmed to TMZ that Trcka passed away on December 12. The San Diego County Medical Examiner has since confirmed her death, stating that the official cause remains pending while the investigation continues.
Family members told authorities that Trcka was not known to have any underlying medical conditions or illnesses at the time of her death. Officials are expected to release additional information once the medical examiner’s final report is completed.
Before entering the entertainment industry, Trcka built a successful career as a competitive bodybuilder during the 1980s, a period when women’s bodybuilding was still fighting for mainstream recognition. Known for her powerful physique and discipline, she quickly became a standout figure in the fitness world.
Her bodybuilding success led to features in some of the industry’s most prominent publications, including Flex, MuscleMag International, and Women’s Physique World. Those appearances helped establish her as a recognizable name among fitness fans and paved the way for opportunities beyond competition.
Trcka made her acting debut in 2000 with Scary Movie, where she portrayed Miss Mann, a small but memorable role that became part of the film’s enduring pop culture legacy. The appearance opened doors to additional television work, including guest roles on The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway?.
Outside of acting and fitness, Trcka also worked as a real estate agent in California, balancing multiple careers over the years. Friends and fans have described her as driven, independent, and unafraid to reinvent herself.
