Brad Pitt is reportedly seeking to bring his protracted legal battle with ex-wife Angelina Jolie to a close, signaling a desire for resolution after years of contentious disputes.
The former couple, who met on the set of their 2003 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, married in 2014 and separated in 2016, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
They had been together for 12 years and shared six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. Following their divorce in 2024, several of their children have chosen to drop “Pitt” from their last names.
The ongoing legal conflict centers on two main issues: custody of their children and their $500 million French winery, Château Miraval.
The 1,200-acre organic wine estate in Correns, France, was purchased by the pair in 2011. Pitt has claimed that Jolie sold her shares to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler for $67 million without his knowledge, arguing it was a joint asset.

In 2022, Pitt filed a lawsuit against the Oscar-winning actress. A judge has since ordered mediation for October 28, 2026, with a trial date set for February 1, 2027.
According to Radar Online, Pitt has now instructed his attorney to seek a “compromise,” hoping to conclude the legal drama before the end of this year.
Teasing the possibility of a pre-trial agreement, an insider shared, “No matter how much time and money Brad has plowed into the fight, this has to stop.”
“Both sides have made their points, and it’s time to put the whole lawsuit to bed,” they said. “Ten years of fighting is long enough.”
“His and Angelina’s reputations have both been damaged by this conflict. Nobody caught up in this mess is getting any younger,” concluded the source.
