Kim Zolciak is speaking out for the first time about what she claims led to the end of her marriage to former NFL player Kroy Biermann. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 47, and Biermann, 40, separated in May 2023 after 12 years together. Although they briefly paused their divorce in July, Biermann filed again the following month, and the pair have remained locked in a tense and costly legal fight ever since.
Appearing at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas, Zolciak told Entertainment Tonight that Biermann was unfaithful, saying the “final straw” was that “He cheated.” Her daughter Ariana, 24, who was with her during the interview, reacted with surprise, saying, “Holy s—.”
During a panel discussion with Brittany Cartwright, Denise Richards, and Luann de Lesseps, Zolciak described her current relationship with Biermann as “impossible.” She said the divorce process has drained “lots of money” while making no real progress toward resolution. She also voiced concern for their children — Kroy Jr., 14, Kash, 13, and twins Kaia and Kane, 11 — saying the situation has become unhealthy.
“There’s no co-parenting; it’s disturbing. If you only knew,” she said. “As much as I would love to share the truth, I won’t, because I have children. You don’t bash the mother of your children. Their stability is in my own.”
Despite the turmoil, Zolciak said she has found happiness with a new partner. People magazine previously confirmed she has been dating her boyfriend since March, and Zolciak described their connection as immediate. “I’m a Taurus, guys. I’m loyal to a fault. We went on our first date, and we’ve been together ever since,” she said.
Zolciak prefers to keep details private, but admitted there has been growing curiosity surrounding her boyfriend. She revealed that “somebody had the paparazzi outside his house recently.” She said they bonded because they are “both going through divorces for the exact same reason,” calling the connection something that emerged from “horrible circumstances.”
She also addressed speculation that her boyfriend is still married. Zolciak explained to Entertainment Tonight, “I’m legally married and so is he. So, he’s been going through a divorce for years as well, and so have I. So I don’t know – I’m supposed to wait til I’m legally divorced? I don’t think Kroy will ever give me a divorce.”
Zolciak said she now feels “happy as hell” and “at peace,” even as the legal process surrounding her marriage continues with no clear end in sight.
