Cardi B had a rough moment on stage during the opening night of her Little Miss Drama Tour, and of course, she turned it into a headline grabbing joke.
The rapper had an unexpected moment on stage when she fell off a chair during her Little Miss Drama Tour. Things took a sudden turn when she tried to drop backward in a dramatic, sexy move, but the chair slid out from under her.
Instead of landing the moment like planned, the American rapper fell as the chair slipped from under her. Still, Cardi did what Cardi does best and immediately played it off like it was part of the act.
“That wasn’t me, that was the government,” she said after quickly jumping to her feet.
The comment was not random. The singer recently criticized the government for ICE crackdown against immigrants, and she has been vocal about immigration issues in recent days.
During the same opening night performance, Cardi B took things even further when she started addressing the crowd directly, asking if certain groups were in attendance.
On the opening night of her tour, Cardi B asked the crowd if any Guatemalan or Mexican people were in attendance.
Then she launched into an aggressive warning, telling fans she would not stay quiet if immigration officials showed up.
“If ICE comes in here, we gonna jump they a*, the singer said. “I’ve got some bear mace in the back! They ain’t taking my fans, b.”
Those remarks quickly got attention online, and apparently officials were not amused.
Officials with Homeland Security were not amused with the singer’s remarks, making reference to a 2019 admission she made about drugging and stealing from patrons during her time as an exotic dancer.
Between the onstage fall, the government joke, and the heated comments about ICE, Cardi’s tour kickoff instantly became more than just a concert. It turned into another reminder that her shows are rarely predictable, and her mouth is even less so.
Whether fans see it as fearless or reckless, Cardi B clearly is not backing down from stirring controversy, even while performing in front of thousands.
