Offset, the estranged husband of rapper Cardi B, is facing new legal challenges as he becomes embroiled in a lawsuit filed by a security guard who accuses him of assault and battery. The claims add to the rapper’s growing list of troubles, including significant tax debt and a stalled divorce case.
According to legal documents obtained by Us Weekly, Jim Sanchez, a security guard, has filed a lawsuit against Offset, alleging assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The complaint stems from an incident that allegedly took place in March at a dispensary where Sanchez worked.
The filing claims that the Migos rapper “became hostile, verbally confrontational, and physically attacked Plaintiff by striking him in the face” after being asked to show identification. Sanchez also alleges that others joined in the altercation, leaving him with serious injuries.

He said he was rushed to the hospital with severe pain in his neck and head following the alleged attack. Offset’s spokesperson has denied the accusations, maintaining that the security guard was the one who initiated the confrontation. The representative claimed Sanchez spat on and insulted Offset, provoking the altercation.
This latest legal issue comes as Offset continues to face financial difficulties. Reports indicate that the rapper owes more than $2.3 million in unpaid taxes, compounding his legal woes as he navigates his separation from Cardi B.
The couple’s divorce proceedings have reportedly stalled due to ongoing financial disputes. Cardi B, who filed for divorce in September 2024, has claimed that Offset owes her child support, spousal support, and reimbursement for taxes she paid on his behalf during their seven-year marriage.

Their split followed years of an on-again, off-again relationship marked by public breakups and reconciliations. Cardi previously filed for divorce in 2020 before later reconciling with Offset. This time, however, sources close to the couple say the separation appears to be final.
Offset, best known for his work as a member of Migos and for his solo projects, has not yet commented publicly on the assault lawsuit. The case adds further strain to an already tumultuous period in his personal and financial life.
With multiple lawsuits, tax troubles, and a contentious divorce, Offset now faces a critical moment that could impact both his career and finances. For now, his legal team has not announced when he is expected to respond to the new allegations in court.
