Glenn Close Says “All’s Fair” Is Being Unfairly Judged as She Defends Kim Kardashian’s Performance

Kim Kardashian’s new series All’s Fair has taken a beating from critics since its early-November debut, but one of her most respected costars isn’t backing away from the project. Glenn Close, who stars alongside Kardashian in the legal drama, says the negative buzz doesn’t match what she experienced on set or what she sees on screen.

In a recent interview, the 78-year-old actress pushed back against the criticism and made it clear she believes the show deserves a fairer assessment. “I swear to God, I’ve seen all nine episodes and it’s pretty f–king good. It is what it is: it’s juicy and outrageous at times and touching,” Close told The Guardian on Saturday, November 15.

Her comments come at a time when the series has been hit with harsh reviews from several established outlets, many of which singled out Kardashian’s acting. Close didn’t hold back in her defense. She highlighted not only Kardashian’s performance but also her professionalism throughout filming.

The Oscar nominee described the 45-year-old as “lovely” and “very smart,” and said she saw a level of focus that often goes unnoticed by the public. Close recalled long days on set when Kardashian balanced her shooting schedule with her studies. “[Kardashian is] very, very conscientious with her kids. When we were filming, she was going through working towards her law degree, and near the end, she would have flashcards.

She now has her law degree, and I asked her, ‘Are you going to practice?’ And she said: ‘No, I just want it in my back pocket.’” Kardashian’s legal ambitions have been well documented, especially after she revealed that she failed the bar exam on her first attempt.

All’s Fair marks one of her most prominent scripted acting roles to date, placing her in a cast that includes Close, Niecy Nash, Naomi Watts, and Sarah Paulson. The blend of high-profile actors with a reality-TV icon generated buzz long before the series arrived, but the early wave of reviews leaned sharply negative.

Even so, Close’s endorsement adds a new layer to the conversation. She appears confident that the series has merit beyond the headlines and that Kardashian’s contributions deserve recognition. As more viewers continue to discover the show, Close’s perspective may influence whether the public weighs the criticism differently. For now, the debate over All’s Fair is far from settled, but Close has made her position clear: she’s standing firmly with her costar.
