Denise Richards and her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, are entrenched in an increasingly bitter divorce, with new legal moves signaling that the fight is far from over. As previously reported, Richards has accused Phypers of abuse and harassment, allegations that led her to secure a restraining order earlier this summer.
Phypers has denied the claims and responded with a series of explosive counteraccusations, alleging drug abuse, infidelity, hoarding, and neglect by Richards. He has also formally requested spousal support from the actress. Now, Richards appears to be escalating her legal strategy.
According to a new report from Us Weekly, the 54-year-old actress has hired prominent divorce attorney Mark Gross, who previously represented her ex-husband Charlie Sheen, to take the lead in her case.

Court documents obtained by the outlet show that on December 10, Richards officially notified the court that she was replacing her former legal counsel with Gross. He will now represent her alongside attorneys Ronald Brot and Yumiko Gibson as the divorce proceedings intensify.
Shortly after stepping in, Gross raised concerns about Phypers’ financial disclosures, arguing that they were improperly completed and could not be relied upon by the court. According to Richards’ legal team, the documentation must be corrected before the case can move forward to a hearing.
One of the central issues flagged by Gross involves Phypers’ claim of ownership of a wellness business called Quantum Epigenetics Consulting. Richards’ attorneys allege that Phypers failed to provide key details about the company, including how long he has been operating the business and how much income it generates.
In court filings, Richards’ legal team stated that Phypers “failed to state the number of years in that business, and failed to state his income from that business,” calling into question the accuracy and completeness of his financial disclosures. They are now pushing for revised paperwork to ensure a clear picture of his finances before any decisions are made regarding support or asset division.

The dispute over finances adds another layer to an already contentious case that has played out both in court and in the public eye. Richards has maintained that she is seeking protection and accountability, while Phypers has portrayed himself as the aggrieved party in need of financial support.
With new legal representation in place and challenges mounting over financial transparency, the divorce battle between Richards and Phypers shows no signs of cooling off. As both sides prepare for the next phase in court, the outcome will likely hinge on whether the disputed financial records can withstand scrutiny.
