Jaime King is ending her second marriage. Austin Sosa, a banker, has filed for divorce from the Hart of Dixie alum, according to reports first shared by TMZ. The filing was made on Thursday, Jan. 22. King is 46.
Details about the couple’s relationship have remained largely private, including when they officially tied the knot. What is clear is that, until recently, the relationship appeared supportive and deeply connected to King’s family life.
At the time news of their engagement surfaced, King’s representative said the actress was “grateful” for the encouragement she had received from fans. Her rep added that King was “especially happy to share this moment with her children, who have a loving bond with Austin and his family.”

The statement emphasized that King’s focus has always been on her children: “As always, her sons remain her top priority, and she kindly asks for privacy as they move forward together with love and gratitude.”
Sources close to the actress previously suggested that the relationship with Sosa and his family had become an important source of stability. “She is very close with his family and was staying with his parents after she moved out of her Los Angeles apartment earlier this year,” a source said.
King is the mother of two sons, James, 12, and Leo, 10, whom she shares with her first husband, filmmaker Kyle Newman. Her role as a parent has remained central throughout major life changes, including both her new relationship and the long-running aftermath of her previous marriage.
In September, King briefly spoke about her engagement during an appearance on Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald. While she did not go into detail, she did share that she and Sosa “met through mutual friends.” The comment was one of the few public acknowledgments she made about the relationship.

King’s personal life has been under public attention for several years due to her highly publicized divorce from Newman. The former couple married in 2007, and King filed for divorce in May 2020. Their divorce was finalized in September 2023, bringing a lengthy legal process to a close.
More recently, the custody arrangement involving their two children has also evolved. Newman, 47, was granted sole physical custody of their sons in March 2025. While both parents will continue to share legal custody, the court ordered that Newman will have tie-breaking authority over legal decisions and primary physical custody of the children.
As King navigates another transition, she has continued to request privacy, particularly regarding matters involving her children. For now, neither King nor Sosa has publicly commented on the divorce filing, and further details about the timeline of their marriage or separation have not been disclosed.
