Kim Kardashian has denied under oath that she and her mother planned the release of her infamous sex tape with Ray J, as the long-running dispute over the tape resurfaces in an ongoing legal battle.
The sworn declarations were reportedly filed on March 11 as part of a defamation lawsuit brought by Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, against Ray J last October. The singer had alleged that the pair colluded with producers to commercially release their tape, Kim Kardashian, Superstar, as a publicity strategy.
In her declaration, Kardashian reportedly rejected the allegations outright.
“[Ray J’s] claim that I had a plan with my mother and others to release a sex tape, defraud the public, and file a ‘fake’ lawsuit against the porn company that released it to ‘create buzz’ is a lie,” she said.
Jenner also denied any involvement, calling the idea that she orchestrated the release of a sex tape involving her daughter “entirely untrue” and “deeply offensive.” She said the situation had been painful for her as a mother and insisted she played no role in the tape’s creation or distribution.

Ray J later filed a countersuit, claiming Kardashian and Jenner violated a nondisclosure agreement related to the controversy.
After the sworn statements became public, Ray J pushed back, telling media outlets that Kardashian and Jenner had “completely lied about everything.” He also claimed that both he and Kardashian were paid $400,000 for the tape.
His mother, Sonja Norwood, also spoke out following the filings. Reacting to Kardashian and Jenner’s declarations, Norwood questioned who was responsible for the tape’s release if the pair were not involved.
“After reading the declarations from Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian, and reading their recent statements circulating across multiple media outlets regarding the tape, I am no longer going to sit back and watch my son be dogged on social media over this matter when Ray J and I, Kris and Kim, and many others know the truth,” she said.

Addressing Jenner directly, she added, “And Kris, momager, you say you did not orchestrate the commercial release of the tape. Then who did?”
The tape was released in 2007 by Vivid Entertainment, which said it purchased the footage from a third party for $1 million. Kardashian initially sued the company for invasion of privacy but later dropped the lawsuit after reportedly reaching a settlement.
Despite years of speculation, Kardashian and Jenner continue to deny any involvement in planning the tape’s release, while Ray J has repeatedly maintained that the rollout was orchestrated. The issue has resurfaced once again as the legal fight between the parties continues.
