He just wanted another look at her. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga reunited at the 2022 SAG Awards on Sunday night, where they are both nominated.
Cooper smiles from ear to ear as he approaches Gaga in the audience for a touching moment in photos of the “A Star Is Born” co-stars.
Fans were charmed by the former colleagues’ chemistry in the 2018 film and subsequent press tour, during which many believed they were more than pals.
At the 2019 Oscars, Gaga, 35, and Cooper, 47, sang such an intense duet of their song “Shallow” that the “Bad Romance” diva had to reject relationship rumors.
“First of all, social media, quite frankly, is the toilet of the internet,” Gaga, who was then newly single after her breakup from fiancé Christian Carino, said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” at the time. “What it has done to pop culture is abysmal. And yes, people saw love, and guess what, that’s what we wanted you to see.”
Cooper’s then-girlfriend, Irina Shayk, sat in the crowd, and the show-stopping and steamy performance sparked online chatter.
“This is a love song, ‘Shallow,’ the movie, ‘A Star Is Born, is a love story. We worked so hard, we worked all week on that performance,” Gaga said, adding that Cooper was the mastermind behind the scenes.
“Everything you saw, the way that they pushed the piano out, you saw them put the piano together, and we walk up on stage, no intro, that was all him,” Gaga said of Cooper.
Gaga is nominated at this year’s SAG Awards in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category for “House of Gucci.” Cooper was nominated for his role in “Licorice Pizza” but lost to “CODA” star Troy Kotsur.
