Kim Kardashian has officially addressed long-standing rumors that she once had a secret relationship with her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s husband, musician Travis Barker. The reality star set the record straight during the October 15 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, saying the claims were completely false.
Kim explained that she first met Barker years ago when he was dating her close friend Paris Hilton in the early 2000s. The two often spent time together through their social circles, but she made it clear their relationship was always platonic.
“No, I never have,” Kim told host Alex Cooper when asked if she had ever been involved with Barker. “I never have, and that really sucks that has gone on, but he dated Paris, and we were all friends, and we would all hang out.”
The SKIMS founder, 44, shared that their interactions were mostly during trips and events with Paris. “And when I was with Paris, we’d be on the road and go to their tour in Amsterdam,” she said. “I have been friends with him, but never in that way… And never hooked up.”
Cooper then asked about Barker’s memoir, in which he mentioned having a crush on Kim years before marrying Kourtney. Kim clarified that the book did not suggest they had any kind of romantic relationship. “No, but it would say that we never hooked up. I mean, I don’t think he would allude to that information,” she replied.
Kim went on to explain that Barker and Kourtney had known each other for years before they began dating. “But also, Kourtney was around during that time. So, they were neighbours for a decade,” she said. “He was always around with his kids; they would always come to Kourtney’s house for the birthdays.”
According to Kim, the friendship between their families was always open and transparent. “So it was, everything was super open and cool. It’s like everyone’s been friends. He was just as good a friend with them as he was with us,” she added.
Kim wrapped up the conversation by dismissing any lingering speculation. “There was nothing weird,” she concluded.
Her comments appear to put an end to years of gossip about her connection to Barker, who has since married Kourtney Kardashian. The couple, who wed in 2022, have been open about their relationship, while Kim’s remarks highlight the long-standing friendship between the families rather than any past romance.
