After six years of intense study, Kim Kardashian has officially graduated from law school, marking a major milestone in her ongoing push for criminal justice reform. While her journey has often drawn skepticism, the reality star turned entrepreneur has stayed committed to the cause, even when critics questioned her motives.
The moment was celebrated during a graduation party featured in the latest episode of The Kardashians, where the tone shifted between heartfelt praise and playful humor. One of the most talked-about moments came during a speech by political analyst Van Jones, a longtime supporter of Kardashian’s legal efforts.
Jones addressed lingering criticism head-on, joking with the audience as he reflected on the doubts surrounding Kardashian’s decision to pursue law. “No one up here is gonna be petty, so I’m gonna be petty: people said this was about publicity. This whole thing was supposed to be some kind of a publicity… stunt,” he said.

He quickly dismantled that idea with humor and perspective. “If that is true, it is the most labor-intensive publicity stunt in the history of publicity stunts. What kind of publicity stunt takes six years? No.”
Kardashian, who was seated nearby, was clearly amused by the comment and later leaned into the joke herself. In a confessional moment, she responded with her trademark self-awareness. “It was nice for him to say, but I was like, oh, this man does not know me. Kim K. would take six years for a PR stunt. Does he know who I am?”
She continued the playful moment by bringing her sister Kourtney into the joke. “I was thinking, like, ‘Kourtney’s gonna be onto me.’ Of course, I’d take six years for a PR stunt!” Kardashian said, laughing as she called it “the most genius [stunt] of all time.”
Despite the humor, Kardashian made it clear that her passion for criminal justice reform is genuine. “I mean, that’s not why I’m in it, but you know what I mean,” she added, making sure the joke did not overshadow her commitment.
Jones, who has worked closely with Kardashian on prison reform initiatives, used his speech to emphasize how rare it is for someone with her level of fame to dedicate themselves to such a difficult cause. “It’s a lonely fight, you get the smallest grants, your phone call gets returned last if at all,” he said, describing the uphill battle faced by advocates in the criminal justice space.
“And then a miracle happened: the biggest star in the world, a household name if you go to Antarctica, the penguins know who the Kardashians are raised her hand, said she wanted to help,” Jones added, praising Kardashian’s willingness to use her platform for reform.

Kardashian returned the appreciation, crediting Jones as a driving force behind her legal journey. “This whole process of law school has taken a village,” she said. “It really started with Van Jones, who recommended I do this program.”
While Kardashian has completed her law studies, her journey is not without setbacks. It is worth noting that she failed the California bar exam in July, despite graduating. Still, sources close to her say her determination has not wavered, and she remains focused on achieving her goal of becoming a licensed attorney.
For Kardashian, the graduation represents more than a title. It reflects years of persistence, public scrutiny, and personal growth. Jokes aside, the reality star has made it clear that her work in criminal justice reform is not a publicity move, but a long-term commitment she intends to continue, bar exam or not.
