Gordon Ramsay’s wife Tana makes a startling comment after skin cancer scare

Tana Ramsay, Gordon Ramsay’s wife, said that she had a skin problem because she spends too much time in the sun.

The 51-year-old spoke about having melasma, a common but rarely discussed skin condition, in a new interview with the Times published on Monday, January 19.

She told the newspaper, “Gordon and I used to bake.” “Now I have melasma.”

According to the Cleveland Clinic, melasma is a skin disorder that causes brown or blue-gray patches or spots that seem like freckles. These spots may occasionally get itchy or irritated.

A frequent skin condition that may be caused by too much sun or a tanning bed. Tana stated, “I’ll never forget going into a pharmacy and the woman behind the counter asking what the stains on my face were.”

Tana claims that nowadays she is much more careful in the sun and never leaves home without her favourite sunscreen.

This comes just a few months after Gordon said he was worried about getting skin cancer from being in the sun.

In August 2025, the famous chef, who was 59 at the time, posted a picture of his bandaged face on Instagram, followed by a picture of a scar. He said he had surgery to remove Basal Cell Carcinoma, which is a kind of non-melanoma skin cancer.

After the procedure, a big bandage was put on the side of his jaw beneath his ear. A second picture showed that the wrap was hiding many sutures.

“Thank you so much to the amazing team at The Skin Associates for their quick work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma. I’m very grateful.” Gordon wrote the title of the piece.

According to the Mayo Clinic, basal cell carcinoma usually appears as a lump on the skin that is somewhat translucent. It usually occurs on parts of the skin exposed to sunlight, such as the head and neck, after prolonged exposure to UV radiation.

“Don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend,” Gordon said in the caption, “I promise you it’s not a facelift!” I would need my money back….”
