Approximately one and a half years after Shannen Doherty passed away at the age of 53, her ex-husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko, is contesting the divorce settlement that they established. Iswarienko, who was married to the Charmed actress for 11 years until she filed for divorce in 2023, was accused of failing to fulfill some “monetary obligations” stipulated in the settlement.
This allegation was made in a court petition that was submitted by Doherty’s estate in November. On July 12, 2024, Doherty signed the settlement, and the next day, Iswarienko added his signature, bringing the settlement to a successful conclusion. It was on that day that Doherty passed away after a long and courageous fight against cancer.
After that, Iswarienko filed a court motion of his own in response to the estate’s accusations. According to the paperwork that Iswarienko sent to the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, he asserts that the court that was supposed to hear his settlement with Doherty was the incorrect one.

The latest declaration submitted on Wednesday argues that the court lacks the authority to enforce the requirements that Doherty’s estate claims he has failed to comply with. This information was obtained via PEOPLE.
In the motion that was submitted in November by Doherty’s attorneys and Christopher Cortazzo, the trustee of the Shannen Doherty Family Trust, her estate asserted that Iswarienko was in violation of the terms that were associated with a piece of real estate, a cache of photographs of Doherty that Iswarienko is said to possess, and other things.
Iswarienko has not yet listed the property, according to the filing, which also claimed that he refuses to return a number of Doherty’s belongings and has failed to both produce an inventory of his photographs of the actress and hand over copies of those photographs.
The filing also noted that Doherty and Iswarienko’s settlement included a provision that held Iswarienko liable for the sale of Doherty’s home in Dripping Springs, Texas. However, Iswarienko has not yet listed the property.

Iswarienko asserts in the document that was submitted on Wednesday that Cortazzo has “failed to show he has authority under the trust” to demand that Iswarienko comply with the conditions of the settlement in the first place.
Doherty disclosed the moment in December 2023 when she decided to end her relationship with Iswarienko, which had lasted 11 years. Before undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumor, Doherty discovered “that my husband had been carrying on an affair for two years,” she said in an episode of her podcast titled “Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty.” “I couldn’t go into that surgery with him there,” she remarked, despite the fact that he had expressed his desire to accompany her to the operation. It was such a betrayal.
