When asked about his path with mental health and the life-changing effects of treatment, David Harbour was forthright about his experiences. Lately, the fifty-year-old individual discussed his experience with treatment. In terms of his ability to control his bipolar disease, he said that this action had made a “world of difference.”
At the age of 25, Harbour was given a diagnosis of the illness. In an interview published on the website Future of Personal Health, the actor noted that while medicine has been necessary, therapy has offered more in-depth work required for remission.

When used by itself, medication is just half the fight. “There is no magic bullet; the only thing that can help is the diligent effort of each individual,” Harbour said. “My treatment has improved significantly as a result of my participation in intense psychotherapy, which I began not too long ago”.

Jim Hopper, a well-known character from the television show Stranger Things, described the jumbled, chaotic nature of his manic episodes, in which his thoughts were disorganized, and symbols took on perverse meanings.
A further statement made by Harbour was as follows: “My manic episodes are, of course, a manifestation of my own particular psychopathy.” His emphasis was on the fact that treatment has helped him confront these behaviors and maintain equilibrium.

For a long time, the actor has been transparent about his troubles. He divulged the fact that he joined treatment for the first time in 1999, after his sobriety. “It forced me to confront a lot of demons that rose to the surface when I quit drinking,” he added. “It was a very difficult experience.”
Harbour believes that his honesty may inspire others to seek assistance, as well as the discoveries he has made about himself. He admitted that treatment may be expensive, but he encouraged individuals who were having difficulty to look into support groups and other, more affordable options.

At the same time that Harbour was navigating both career and personal issues, he became more honest. There have been speculations of animosity between him and his co-star, Millie Bobby Brown, as well as media coverage of his breakup with singer Lily Allen.
Not only has he been in the television show Stranger Things, but he has also appeared in films such as Thunderbolts, Black Widow, and Revolutionary Road.
